The ISSA Hygieia Network is an international community of companies and communities dedicated to the recognition, advancement and retention of women throughout all levels of the global cleaning industry. ISSA is named after the Greek goddess of cleaning and hygiene.
Each year the ISSA Hygieia Network Awards host an event to recognize individuals and companies that have made an outstanding contribution to the cleaning industry worldwide. One of the event’s top honors is The Man of the Year Award, which celebrates a senior-level man who is dedicated to promoting the advancement of female cleaning professionals.
HONOREE VALUES THE CONTRIBUTION OF WOMEN
Mark Oldaker, vice president of operations and finance of Midwest Maintenance, won the distinguished The Man of the Year Award in 2017 and continues to focus on the high value and contribution that women make in the success of Midwest Maintenance and throughout global cleaning businesses.
Oldaker supports the efforts of the ISSA Hygieia Network as it develops programs to reduce illiteracy levels and foster academic achievement in ISSA members. The network also campaigns for the improvement of working conditions for immigrants and undeclared laborers. In addition, ISSA educates women in the cleaning industry on more personal topics such as health issues, nutrition and childcare.
